Hello my name is Adria!

In 2002 I graduated from Saint Mary's College in Notre Dame Indiana with my bachelors in studio art. While at St.Mary's I took some graphic design classes at Notre Dame and loved them! My school didn’t offer graphic design as a major so I ended up focusing on digital media. Unfortunatly, since I graduated I have not worked within the art field. I have decided to return to school to obtain my associates in Graphic design to further hone my skills and really get the base I need to become a graphic designer.

For as far back as I can remember I have always loved art and everything that goes along with it. As a young child I wanted to become an animator for Disney. I constantly drew what I saw in the movies and in books. I have sketchbooks filled with recreated Disney art. I loved the bold colors and the simplicity but complexity of the drawings. I think that was my first appreciation of art.

Now however I still enjoy the art of Disney but I have broadened my knowledge of what is out there in the world of art. In school I took all the art classes that we had available to me; painting, ceramics, fabrics, drawing, silk-screening, photography, holography, digital media, product and graphic design. I enjoyed them all but the ones that involved graphic art in some form or another really caught my interest. That is why I am coming back to school to focus all my attention to graphic design.

Lately I have been doing some graphic design work on my own for myself, friends and family. I have designed and produced wedding invitations and programs. This is something that I truly enjoy doing and would someday maybe like to start a wedding invitation company. We’ll see....

A little personal info on me...I am 28 years old and I work in purchasing. I have been married to Sean for almost 3 years. He is a mechanical engineering student at U of I. we have a wonderful black lab named Gunner who is my baby and keeps me pretty busy. In my spare time I create and design jewelry, workout, watch movies and enjoy the time that I spend with my family.

I look forward to starting this semester and my graphic design career...
