This is an ad for Gap jeans that i found while looking at other Gap ads. I think that Gap has a very creative yet distinctive approach to their ads. This ad inparticular lends to the style of the psychadelic era but brings it into today's style. The whole ad takes the shade of blue to represent the blue jeans that they are advertising. The images of the girls are greyed out to push the jeans into the forefront of the ad. The writing and the designs at the bottom look like someone drew them in their notebook so, it adds a playful and youthful look to coordinate with the feeling of wearing the jeans. Also at the top of the ad there is a bubble of text that looks like it came straight out of the 70's! i feel that this is a very youthful and fun ad.Wednesday, November 28, 2007

This is a good example of how effective a limited color palette can be. You nailed the reference to '70s art. The drawing at the bottom could be a tribute to Peter Max.
