I love ketchup so, if you put it on those fries i might eat them! :) this ad for heinz ketchup is quite a clever one. i found it in my better homes and gardens magazine. i think that the blandness of the whole image really makes the little red bottle pop out at the bottom. its making a statement that without ketchup even this meal of steak and fries would be boring. i really appreciate the cardboard cut outs and the way they are set on the plate like a meal. its very playful and whimsical. when i look at this ad i think of when i was a child and we used to play with fake food. no one wants to eat something that tastes like that! So this ad is effectively telling its audience with minimal words that "without" ketchup food tastes like cardboard.
